Carbonised Strandwoven (Compressed)
Bamboo is an environmentally friendly, renewable resource that has been used as a construction material for thousands of years. Ecologically, the harvesting of bamboo does not affect the world’s already dwindling timber resources. Technically considered a grass, bamboo has the ability to grow to maturity in 4-6 years. The intricate root system remains unharmed upon harvesting and allows for sustainable future growth.
While hardwoods take decades to achieve maturity, bamboo grows back to its original size within a few months. Once cut, other hardwoods are lifeless. After bamboo is cut, it is able to grow again and again.
Strand woven bamboo is made using a unique manufacturing. By heating long strips of bamboo, weaving them together, then laminating them under extreme pressure, this produces a floor that is even harder and denser than Australian hardwoods.
Bamboo, is not only a renewable resource but during the manufacturing process all 100% of the product is utilised. Our preferred suppliers do not throw away any waste at all, therefore this process is extremely environmentally friendly.
The benefits are not just environmental…. the colouration of solid bamboo flooring runs completely through the entire timber. It’s one solid piece of bamboo so if it were to chip, you would most likely no notice it as much as another type of flooring. The end result is a beautiful bamboo floor that has a wood flooring appearance and is also extremely durable, easy to care for, environmentally friendly, insect resistant, moisture resistant, dimensionally stable and of course affordable. It is laid, prefinished, as a floating floor on any stable existing flooring. There is minimal down time without all the sanding and finishing.
A lot of new looks come and go but this one is a winner with architects, builders and homeowners alike.
